Belgrade Theatre
We were commissioned by the Belgrade Theatre to design and make a commemorative artwork that celebrated their donors. The artwork was developed to harmonise with the newly refurbished 1958 cafe that used mid century design elements in a scheme by Harriet Lazzeri Interiors.
Virtually Milverton
We designed and built an entire virtual gallery to host an exhibition of 9 artists for the Milverton Art Trail in lieu of Warwickshire Open Studios 2020 which was cancelled due to Covid19. This involved building the model in CAD, rendering the 360 panoramas, authoring and publishing the virtual tour.
Milton Keynes Hospital commission
We're delivering various commissions at Milton Keynes hospital in the Children's Unit working with the Arts for Health team. We've completed work on Wards 4 and 5 and the adjacent day care centre, Milton Mouse.

Birkett House is a special school providing places for up to 175 students aged between 5 and 19 years. We were appointed to develop the interior design as well as engage the school in activities that contributed to the overall scheme.

We're working with Wildstone Media to develop a series of digital advertising screens proposal for the M6 corridor.

Hatherley commission
We were commissioned by Cheltenham Borough Council to design a public artwork which was sited in an area called Humpty Dumps. The sculpture is based on the discovery legend of the spa waters in Cheltenham and depicts birds and flora and fauna developed with pupils from the schools.
Perdiswell Leisure Centre
We worked with Worcester City Council to develop artworks and interior finishes for the regions newest 8 lane Olympic competition public swimming pool.
Ysgol Y Gogarth SEN scheme
We were commissioned by Conwy Council to lead on coordinating design interventions for this new build special school.
Fitzroy House CAMHS Unit
We worked with Willis Newson and
P+HS architects to deliver an integrated design commission for this new St. Andrews Healthcare Trust CAMHS Unit in Northampton. With 110 beds it is the largest facility of its kind in Europe.

Littleton Green Community School
We worked with pupils from Y1 - Y6 to develop concepts and in some cases make artworks for the scheme. The building design was based around the concept of a 'tree house'.

Leek Meadows SEN School
Ideas generated from the engagement process were used in the new build to invigorate the interior and exterior spaces. We worked with Springfield SEN, Leek High Specialist Technology school and Meadows SEN.
Oakham Primary School
We worked with Oakham Primary school to generate ideas for their new build scheme. The results of this included developing the overall colour scheme, designs for the pool area and outdoor spaces.
Forest Way SEN School
We worked with the school to develop exciting interactive features located throughout the new build. The school were instrumental in raising additional monies to fund this extensive scheme.

MV16 Centre
We worked closely with the school and construction team to deliver the interior scheme for the new Melton Vale Post 16 Centre. Trampoline sessions were just one example of the engagement strategies.
Chesterton Vision Centre
We developed a lively and challenging engagement programme with young people in order to deliver the interior scheme and special art features. Young people aged 14+ got involved in all aspects of the design process from choices of finishes to manifestation designs.
Birmingham BSF schemes
Cantoo was commissioned by Birmingham LEP to deliver art inputs for 8 schemes including Broadway School, Ormiston Academy, Moseley School , International School and Four Dwellings Schools.
Kettering Buccleuch Academy
We worked with the United Learning Trust and Willmott Dixon Construction to deliver an engagement programme leading to public art commissions for their new build scheme.
Sandwell BSF schemes
Cantoo delivered the public art strategy and engagement workshops with both the sample schemes and 4 subsequent new build schemes for the Sandwell LEP.
Newlands Primary Community school
We developed an interior scheme for this refurbishment project on the former Heathfield Academy site. The scheme is a 2 form entry (2FE) primary school and the project completed October 2018.
Hinckley Parks Primary school
We worked with Holliers Walk Primary school to develop their interior scheme for the refurbishment project. The school moved from their old site to the new location and re-named in the process.
Sellincourt Primary Refurbishment
We were appointed by the school Governors to develop a phased refurbishment scheme for the whole school looking at all the internal finishes as well as some spatial remodelling.
Public Realm
AIR scheme
We were commissioned in 1996 to undertake a Lottery funded two year public art residency on Castle Vale Estate working with the Housing Action Trust. The resulting Artist in Residence (A.I.R.) Scheme was developed by Tim Tolkien as our lead artist on the estate.
Bilston Bus Station
Commissioned by Centro; the Bilston Beacon concept was developed to accentuate the modernist functional architecture of the bus station and provide a striking local landmark. Bilston bus terminus is located along the Black Country route.
Lea Hall Station scheme
We were commissioned by Centro to develop designs for the refurbishment of the booking office and general environment of Lea Hall Station. The station design was nationally awarded for its impact in the reduction in vandalism and contribution to high satisfaction user surveys.
Redditch Pedestrian scheme
Commissioned by the Kingfisher Shopping Centre and Redditch Borough Council. We worked with local schools and town users to develop stunning giant stainless steel needles and a feature paving pedestrian scheme.
Sentinel Spitfire sculpture
Commissioned by the Heartlands Trust in 1998, the magnificent spitfire sculpture is one of the largest pieces of public art in Birmingham. It is situated adjacent to the Castle Vale estate which we worked on for a number of years as part of the regeneration programme.
Ladywood Route 8 scheme
The Route 8 Bus Information sculptures were commissioned by Centro to create landmarks along important bus routes within Birmingham City. Cantoo produced two sculptures based on the colourful local history of the area.
Thinktank Fee-ly wall commission
We worked with Thinktank to design and build an exciting tactile wall installation as part of the Eastside Park development.
The installation uses a variety of materials to excite and engage young visitors to the museum.
Consultation/ Curatorial and Event projects
Staffordshire Primary BSF consultation
We worked with Staffordshire County Council to deliver the initial Primary school BSF pupil engagement workshops at the National Memorial Arboretum. Over 20 Primary schools, 300 children took part.
Living Proof Exhibition
We were commissioned to design and curate an exhibition at Gas Hall Gallery BM&AG on behalf of the Ikon Gallery, Barber Institute, MAC and BMAG. The show ran for three months and included an interactive web site to extend the visitor experience.
Aston Maps Project
We worked with 3 primary and 1 High school to explore their responses to the built environment and developed an online interactive game.
Loop Project
We worked with local primary schools to investigate the historic Icknield Port canal loop and produced a giant stainless steel viewfinder that was toured around the area.

FitzRoy House
We were commissioned by St Andrews Healthcare Trust to deliver a design integration project as part of their new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) unit. FitzRoy is the largest residential mental health facility for adolescents within Europe.

We worked with Worcester City Council on this exciting new 8 lane competitive swimming pool. Our role includes running engagement sessions as well
as advising on the interior design.
