Cantoo was commissioned by Sandwell MBC to develop the interior scheme for Priory Family Centre.

The building is a dual use site which includes Priory Primary school - a one form entry school, and a Sure Start agency. Each stakeholder has their own space allocation as well as shared facilities including a cafe and Library Resource Area. The design challenge was to give each their own identity whilst preserving a sense of independence.

The colour palette used cappuccino coffee as its design cue and this was further emphasized by detailing in the cafe area itself. The sense of togetherness and safety was realised using a hand motif which was expressed on manifestations throughout the building. A striking black / white ceiling design was used in a baby area to aid child development and careful lighting was used to soften the internal spaces.
