Cantoo was commissioned by Northampton County Council and the United Learning Trust to work with the school to deliver an arts consultancy programme for the new build Kettering Buccleuch Academy. The initial impetus for this came from the main contractor and the project was won after a competitive tender process.

 

A key element in the development of this scheme was the close design integration with the architects and site team in order to identify possible locations for art interventions. Subsequently we ran workshops with both the primary and secondary school pupils who were located on different sites to develop a common design approach throughout the new build and to assist in the integration of the two parts of the school into one site.
