Immersive technologies at Gogarth

We worked closely with the school to develop the use of immersive technology in the school. Immersive technology is a fast evolving area and we were keen to implement approaches that had in built flexibility and good user configurability. Our technology partners included OMI Interactive who developed the sensory rooms and deployed soundbeam equipment for the Music room, Architainment who supplied specialist Phillips LED lighting, Crown Stage who supplied specialist stage lighting, Creative 4D who supplied an exciting inflatable sensory pod and Modular Ceilings who installed the fibre optic ceiling in the hydrotherapy pool.

One of the key issues was to get all these providers working together so that the control systems could be shared whilst at the same time allowing plenty of future extensibility. For instance the sensory rooms were designed as white room spaces with wall and floor projections controlled by an iPad app with the option that individual programmes could be modified by staff and added to in time.
