An overall design intent was created using a colour palette based on blues, purples and greys. The design theme used 'fire' as an evocative primal element - referencing activities such as smithying, forging and pouring molten metal as a metaphor for the energetic learning process. Gartree was part of a 4 school new build programme in Leicestershire with each school being assigned an element. Gartree - Fire, Castle Rock - Earth, Bushloe - Water and  Shepshed - Air.
