A series of banners were designed for the atrium spaces. They served two purposes; on the one hand they provided an acoustic solution, and on the other they presented a creative opportunity to engage with students to develop significant artworks as part of the new build. Nine banners were installed ranging in size from H3m x W5.5m to the largest 'T' shaped banner which is H7m x W12m. Students worked with our artists to scan, photograph and pose in order to generate the source material which was then composited in Photoshop.
The banners depict a technology theme to reflect the specialist status of the school. The success of the project resulted in the ICT Department investing in Adobe Photoshop software and commissioning twilight sessions with feeder schools to demonstrate the technology and curriculum links.
