We ran several 'hands on' workshops with Year 2 and Year 4 classes to explore materials and processes. Initial concepts had included proposals around cast objects and linear arrangements in the external paving. Later these proposals were resolved to a slatted seat design in the outdoor welcome space.

The Y4 class found the ink experiments interesting and were very adept at cutting out portions of their work into slats which were used for the seat arrangements. Although quite fiddly most pupils were able to finish their work. The resulting designs showed an emphasis on repeated pattern and gradient colour.
