Alcester Street : Paving scheme

Cast bricks were used to tie the scheme in Alcester Street to the the previous KIngfisher entranceway scheme. The thread of cast bricks stiches itself through the paving in order to encourage the footfall through that area. The casts were a mixture of abstract patterns created by residents as well as key words used in the needle making industry such 'blueing' and 'temper'. The thread line culminates in the quotation "... there is more to Redditch than meets the eye..."  as it crosses through the eye of one of the needles.
