Artist Design sheet 2

Proposals were developed as a result of the engagement programme using drawings and ideas genereated through the process. The include a variety of proposals for both internal and external spaces.

An external wheel could be developed in mosaic workshops with pupils and could include mosaic panels as well as pebble mosaic work using mini beasts as a unifying theme. Alternatively the design could be painted onto the playground tarmac.

An internal wheel could use the same themes but would be manufactured from aquajet vinyls / rubbers or cut into the carpet finish.

Educational learning opportunities

could be incorporated with points of

the compass or clock markings.

LEARNING WHEEL

MEMORY BRICKS

Concept: Based on the architect concept that the building is like a tree house and the overshooting canopy represents the leaves of the tree - this concept explores the idea of in-filling the structural canopy with coloured leaf and bird shapes based on pupils' drawings.

BIRD CANOPY

Concept: A series of modular standard brick shapes will be located in different places and at different heights around the building. The brick shapes will be made out of a variety of materials including cast resin, cast gun metal  and engraved perspex using words and images produced by pupils and staff.
