Artist Design sheet
Stone filled gabion stacks with oak carved columns of varying widths with inset mosaic panels, resin block, stone carvings, gun metal casts panels incorporated.
Optional design considerations include using an LED lit inner column, filling gabions with a material other than stone. Concrete casting with embedded objects is an additional suitable workshop process that could be used to create inset panels.
WAYMARKER STACKS
POD CANOPY
The design makes reference to the internal lily pad deck. The cantilevered structure measuring approx 2600H will incorporate coloured panels in order to create interesting patterns on the ground. Seating and associated paving details will contribute to creating outdoor learning spaces or play arenas for pupils. Various pods of different heights and diameters could be constructed to create a diverse 'play' environment within the playground.
Concept: To create a landmark 'signature' artwork for the school entrance.
Based on a fallen oak leaf - the sculpture will be manufactured from Corten steel which rusts naturally. The overall effect will be to blend with the natural materials being used in the building and to make reference to the 'tree' concept for the building vision.
Proposals were developed as a result of the engagement programme using drawings and ideas genereated through the process. The include a variety of proposals for both internal and external spaces.
